MDS: TCM Treatment Strategy
Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) are a group of bone marrow disorders characterized by ineffective blood cell production and risk of transformation to acute leukemia. TCM views MDS as a condition of 'Deficiency with Accumulation'.
TCM Understanding
MDS involves both deficiency (of Qi, Blood, Yin, Yang) and excess (of toxin, stasis, phlegm). The bone marrow microenvironment is disrupted, leading to abnormal cell development.
Treatment Approach
Our hospital uses a comprehensive approach: tonifying Kidney essence to restore marrow function, clearing toxins to eliminate pathological factors, activating blood to improve marrow circulation, and strengthening the body's overall resistance.
Preventing Transformation
A key advantage of TCM in MDS is preventing transformation to acute leukemia by improving the bone marrow microenvironment and restoring normal cell differentiation pathways.
